
Valentina Ada Scottini is an Italian international student pursuing a degree in Industrial Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology, with a minor in Art History and and an immersion in the German language and culture.
As a dedicated Honors student with a 3.93 GPA, 8-times Dean List Honoree, she balances academics with a strong commitment to community engagement. She is the former President of the Italian Club, an Italian Tutor, a Teaching Assistant, a Student Ambassador, and Liaison of International Students, promoting cultural exchange and supporting others. Her impact has been recognized through the Oustanding Undergraduate Scholar Award.
Her design philosophy emphasizes sustainability and adaptability, reflecting her concern for environmental impact. Inspired by figures like Bruno Munari and Maria Montessori, Valentina aims to create designs that are not only functional but also playful and engaging, evident in the use of vibrant colors, encouring growth and development for users of all ages. Notably, one of her projects was recognized as a winner of Metaproject 15, providing her the chance to get her project prototyped and showcased at the esteemed International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City in May 2025.
Valentina is a highly organized and punctual individual with excellent communication skills. Bilingual in Italian and English, with additional proficiency in Spanish, French and a B2 German certificate, she possesses a global perspective and a strong ability to connect with diverse audiences.
